Katie Price said on Saturday 16 May that her husband Lee Andrews had been missing for three days, telling followers that “something really, really serious has happened.” She said the last time she heard from him was Wednesday night at 10pm, and added that he had been trying to go through the border in Dubai to catch a flight to her.
Price said she was “taking time out of socials” while she tried to understand what had happened. She said: “I don’t really know where to begin but I know there’s all this speculation about Lee from when I met him,” before adding that they were wondering whether he had been kidnapped and that he was “definitely a missing person now.”
The development matters because Price said the Criminal Investigation Department in Dubai was looking for Andrews, while no one could find any record of him being detained in the country. She said no one could locate him in any prison or police station either. That is a stark turn for a marriage that began in January, just four months ago, and had already been under strain after Andrews admitted he had lied about studying at the University of Cambridge.
The pair had been trying to manage a long-distance relationship, and Andrews had promised to visit the UK and appear on Good Morning Britain with Price, but he never arrived. Instead, he missed his original flight from Dubai because of business commitments and then failed to make it to the UK at all.
Price’s account leaves one clear point: whatever happened to Andrews after he was last heard from on Wednesday night, he is now being treated as missing in Dubai. The question that matters next is whether the search in the city finds him, or whether the gaps in his movements deepen the mystery around how he vanished before the trip to the UK.
