Cade Cunningham’s next Nike release is set for May 20, 2026, when the ST Charge “Detroit Tough” hits Foot Locker for $140 in a limited drop. The pair, originally previewed during NBA All-Star Weekend, is one of Cunningham’s first official Player Exclusive colorways tied to Nike Basketball’s newer ST Charge silhouette.
Nike Basketball first introduced the ST Charge during the 2026 All-Star Weekend as part of its Street Tough series, a line built around outdoor-ready performance models designed for heavy court use. The silhouette first surfaced as a regional Asia-market model before drawing wider attention through Cunningham’s on-court debut, and this release pushes it squarely into the center of the brand’s basketball story.
The shoe uses a Sail, Thunder Blue, Aluminum and Metallic Silver palette, anchored by a white reinforced mesh base. Icy translucent blue TPU overlays run across the toe, side panels and heel, while red and blue accents show up through the laces, heel tab and smaller details. Silver Swooshes and metallic hardware finish the upper, and Cunningham’s CC logo sits on the tongue with his number 2 on the heel pull tab.
Underfoot, Nike equips the ST Charge with a Cushlon 3.0 midsole and Zoom Turbo cushioning in the forefoot, a setup aimed at giving the model enough responsiveness for the same kind of rough surfaces the Street Tough series is meant to handle. The outsole uses a tougher rubber compound built for concrete courts and long-term wear, which fits the shoe’s name as much as its look.
The release also carries an obvious message for Detroit. The “Detroit Tough” theme ties directly to Cunningham’s role as the face of the Pistons, turning a performance shoe into a statement about the player and the city around him. For now, the shoe is headed only to Foot Locker, and that limited reach should make May 20 a tight race for anyone hoping to buy a pair.
What happens next is simple enough: the countdown is on, and the first real test of demand will come when Foot Locker opens the release. If the early attention around the ST Charge is any guide, Cunningham’s newest pair is arriving with more than enough name recognition to sell quickly.
