Debby has told her friends that her fiance Mido is a 41-year-old virgin, setting up a blunt and awkward moment ahead of the next episode of TLC's 90 Day Fiancé.
In an exclusive sneak peek published before the Sunday, May 17 episode, Debby, 55, said Mido abstained and told her he had never been with a woman before. "He’s going to kill me for saying that," she said, adding that she found the situation "so bizarre."
Debby, who works as an insurance agent, said the reaction has not stayed private. "I know I’ve actually had people tell me, ‘I don’t believe you,’" she said. One of her friends responded, "Because I’m a slut," before adding, "When I hear that somebody is 40 years old and a virgin, I’m kind of skeptical. I mean, 40 years, really?"
The exchange lands as part of a new season of 90 Day Fiancé built around a relationship that is about to be tested in person. TLC says Mido is expected to travel from Egypt to New Orleans to reunite with Debby, and that their love story will take an unexpected turn when they get engaged.
The network also says Debby will question whether Mido is truly ready for marriage or is chasing stardom in Hollywood. That doubt hangs over the reunion and gives the storyline a sharper edge than the usual travel-and-reconnect setup. Debby has already said she did not initially think he was interested in her because he abstained, until he explained that he had never been with a woman before.
Her own description of the relationship has only deepened the skepticism around it. "I just found the whole situation so bizarre because how do you believe a 30-something Euro that’s telling you this from the U.S.? Where are you going to find that? Or at least you’re not going to find somebody that’s going to admit it," she said. The comment, and the response from her friend, captures the odd mix of disbelief and curiosity that now surrounds the couple.
For now, the key question is not whether Mido and Debby can make the distance work. It is whether the reunion in New Orleans confirms that this is a real path to marriage, or whether the engagement TLC is teasing will expose something much less settled.
