Donegal crash kills two men on N15 as Gardaí seek witnesses

Two men died after a two-vehicle collision at Clar on the main Donegal-Ballybofey road shortly after 2pm on Saturday 16th May 2026. Their bodies were taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for post-mortem examinations.

A woman in her 20s and a man in his 20s from the same vehicle were taken to Letterkenny University Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. A man and a woman in their 40s from the second vehicle were also being treated there for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The crash shut the road as prepared to carry out a technical examination of the scene. appealed to anyone who saw what happened to come forward, and asked motorists who had camera footage, including dash-cam footage, and were travelling on the N15 between 1:30pm and 2:30pm to make it available to investigating Gardaí.

The collision happened outside Donegal Town on one of the county’s main routes, and it added to a growing toll on local roads. Gardaí said six people had lost their lives on Donegal roads so far in 2026.
