said on 16 May 2026 that he will not act in any movies or release any films for the time being, telling a press meet that his attention is fixed on the divorce crisis surrounding his family. He also called for the cyberbullying against him to end, saying the public abuse had crossed a line.

“I am a very quiet person. That silence became my biggest mistake,” Mohan said, adding that people took advantage of that silence and “played their own games” for two years. He said he had kept his mouth shut for that period and now faced a public image in which “everyone thinks I am weak.”

Mohan framed his dispute as both personal and financial. He also spoke at length about his children, saying he is being prevented from meeting them and that bodyguards are sent with them to school. “They send bodyguards with my kids to school. I am not even allowed to see them. I am fighting only to ensure my children have a good future,” he said. In the same remarks, he said he has no personal bank account and only had one joint account, adding that even a small withdrawal would trigger an immediate call asking why he had taken the money.

The comments come as social media has been flooded with posts saying Kaneesha broke her relationship with Mohan and that was behind it. Mohan had reportedly begun a relationship with , while said in a post that she was leaving Chennai and stepping away from music, therapy and social media, citing relentless online bullying, manipulation and sorcery.

Whether that message lands is less certain, but for now he has put his film career on hold and made his next move plain: he is choosing the family dispute first.
