Narrm beat Hawthorn by 39 points at the MCG on Saturday, pulling away after a close first half to win 18.12 to 12.9 in round 10 of the 2026 Toyota AFL Premiership Season. The victory lifted Narrm into fifth spot on the ladder and sent Hawthorn back to sixth.
The result came before 68,557 fans and continued Narrm's strong home run, with the side still unbeaten in six appearances at the MCG this season. Hawthorn had been within six points at half-time, but Narrm stretched the margin steadily and had the game all but sealed when it blew out to 51 points in the final quarter.
Harrison Petty set the tone early by kicking the opening two goals of the game and finished with three, while Harvey Langford added two goals from 18 touches. Jack Steele was busy around the contest with 26 disposals and six clearances, Tom Sparrow had 27 disposals and eight clearances, and Max Gawn finished with 18 touches and eight clearances. Daniel Turner also stood tall in defence as Narrm kept Hawthorn at arm's length after the interval.
The win was another sign of Narrm's rise under first-year coach Steven King, with the club now 7-3 and having reached triple-figure scores seven times in 10 rounds. Hawthorn slipped to 6-3-1 after a night when it could not match Narrm's spread of contributors once the game opened up.
For Narrm, the shape of the season is becoming clearer. The side has turned the MCG into a stronghold, and this was another performance that showed it can build a lead, absorb pressure and finish with control. Hawthorn, by contrast, leaves the weekend with a tighter top-half battle and the task of regrouping after a loss that cost it a place on the ladder.
