Fox on Sunday unveiled its fall 2026 schedule, and the network is leaning hard on what already works. Rob Wade said 90% of the slate is made up of returning shows, with only a small handful of new titles joining the lineup as Fox tries to keep a familiar flow heading into the 2026-27 season.
The biggest shift is that Animal Control is getting its first fall launch inside Fox’s Animation Domination block, while Bob’s Burgers is being pushed off the fall starting lineup and onto the reserve list for the first time in 14 years. Fox is also adding two new dramas, Baywatch and The Interrogator, along with the dating reality series Marriage Market.
That mix gives Fox a fall schedule that closely mirrors its 2025 lineup, but with a few strategic swaps that point toward how the network wants to manage its strongest brands. said it will keep four new and returning drama series waiting for midseason, including Murder In a Small Town, and its Tuesday lineup will keep Best Medicine and Doc together when those shows return later in the season.
The numbers tell the larger story. said it is bringing back 17 unscripted series next season, including six from Gordon Ramsey, and plans to return all of its existing series except sophomore comedy Going Dutch. On the scripted side, Best Medicine has a 14-episode order for season 2, while Doc is coming back with 22 episodes for a second straight year after a 13-episode first season.
Fox entertainment chiefs framed the plan as a bet on momentum already in place. Dan Harrison said the network has had “such a strong year with six freshman renewals,” and added that the strategy for next season is to keep its sophomore shows strong. Michael Thorn said returning Best Medicine in the fall with Doc on Tuesday nights was a “huge priority,” calling it a move that would help the night and serve the long-term future of the comedy.
The schedule change also marks a rare reset for Bob’s Burgers. The animated staple has been part of Fox’s fall starting lineup for years, but this time it is being held until midseason. That leaves Animal Control to take on a bigger role in the network’s Sunday animation block as Fox tries to protect the shows it believes can carry the schedule into the new season.
Fox described Doc as a defining part of its lineup, helped by continuing multiplatform growth, and that helps explain why the network is keeping the drama paired with Best Medicine rather than separating them. The arrangement gives Fox a midseason Tuesday block built around two series it wants to strengthen, while the fall schedule stays centered on returning performers and a few carefully chosen additions.
