Reba McEntire says there will be dogs at her wedding to Rex Linn, and she already has two likely candidates in mind. The singer said Watson and Belle, her two granddogs, may serve as the ring bearers when the couple finally gets married.

“We’re going to have to have dogs there,” McEntire said. “I have two granddogs, Watson and Belle, so they may be the ring bearers or something like that, but we have to have our animals in there. We’ve got longhorns and donkeys, horses and everything there at the place, cats. We have a lot of fun with them.”

The wedding itself is still on hold. McEntire said there is no date yet, and that the plans keep getting pushed back whenever Linn lands a job because, as she put it, work comes first for him. “It’s kind of being pushed every time Rex gets a job because he always says work comes first,” she said. “Heck, we might be engaged 30 years before we get married, but we’re okay with that, too.”

The couple’s path to the altar has already stretched across decades. McEntire and Linn first met in the 1990s but did not start dating until 2020. They got engaged on Christmas Eve in 2024 at their Tennessee ranch, then kept the news private until confirming it publicly in September 2025. Linn has said the wedding will take place at their great ranch in Tennessee, a setting that fits the pair’s stated plan for a low-key event with lots of friends and family.

That mix of delay and certainty fits McEntire’s life now. She has been married twice before, first to Charlie Battles from 1976 to 1987 and later to Narvel Blackstock from 1989 to 2015, but this time she sounds content to let the calendar wait for the work to settle. The question is no longer whether the wedding will happen. It is only when the dogs, family and ranch animals finally get their turn.
