Collingwood has named four inclusions for its Round 10 clash with Sydney on Friday night at the SCG, with Charlie West set for his first AFL game of 2026 and Scott Pendlebury to be managed. The Magpies will face the Swans in Sydney on Friday 15 May at 7:30pm AEST.
West's selection comes after a strong run in the VFL, where the 194cm forward booted 16 goals from six appearances this season and ranked fifth in the second-tier competition for goals. His second AFL match will come after his debut last year in Collingwood's Round 16 win over the West Coast Eagles, when he kicked his first AFL goal.
Will Hayes also returns to the senior side after being omitted for last week’s clash with Geelong, and will play his fifth match of 2026. Wil Parker has been selected for his fourth AFL game of the season, while Ed Allan will play his fifth. Pendlebury, who equalled the V/AFL games record last week, will miss Friday night’s match, pushing his record-breaking appearance back to Round 11’s Saturday afternoon clash with the West Coast Eagles at the MCG.
Darcy Moore and Patrick Lipinski will both miss through concussion, and Darcy Cameron has been omitted after sustaining a knock to his ankle against Geelong. Harvey Harrison, Tew Jiath and Jakob Ryan will be the emergencies. Collingwood will also wear a guernsey designed by 11-year-old Noongar Yamatji artist Jed Bennell for 2026 Sir Doug Nicholls Round, with the design inspired by the story of Magpies forward Bobby Hill.
The team changes leave Collingwood with a shorter senior list for a match that arrives with both selection pressure and a ceremonial layer. The game will be broadcast live on Channel 7, 7plus, Fox Footy and Kayo Sports, but the biggest focus remains on who has been brought in, who has been held back and how the club manages Pendlebury's record-setting week from here.
