The Green Bay Packers will visit the Los Angeles Rams on Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. ET in the NFL's first Thanksgiving Eve game, adding a fifth stand-alone matchup to the league's holiday-week lineup before the regular Sunday slate.
Netflix will stream Packers-Rams, the league said, as it continues to build out a Thanksgiving week that already includes three games on Thanksgiving Day and a Black Friday game added in 2023. The complete 2026 regular-season schedule will be announced Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
The Packers-Rams game lands in a week the NFL has turned into a television event of its own. Since 2006, the league has played three games on Thanksgiving Day, and the 2026 version again starts with two of the sport's most recognizable holiday fixtures. The Dallas Cowboys will host the Philadelphia Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, with Fox televising the game. Earlier that day, the Detroit Lions will host the Chicago Bears at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
That means the holiday stretch now runs from the traditional Thursday slate through a Friday game and into the first Thanksgiving Eve matchup, with five stand-alone games before Sunday arrives. For viewers, the calendar matters as much as the matchups. For the NFL, it is another step in spreading premium inventory across more days and more platforms.
Netflix will also televise two games on Christmas Day, a Saturday 1 p.m. ET game in Week 18, and the NFL Honors show during Super Bowl week. Through 2029, the streaming service is set to carry five regular-season games as well as NFL Honors, giving it a larger role in the league's most visible windows.
The tension in this schedule is not whether the NFL can fill the airtime. It already has. The real question is how far it can keep stretching the season's biggest dates before the holiday games stop feeling special and start feeling routine. For now, when is thanksgiving 2026 has an answer that comes with more football than ever: Nov. 25, and then the rest of the week.
