Is on tonight? Not this week. The has brought the penultimate episode forward by a day, with the travel series now set to air on Wednesday, May 13 at 8pm instead of its usual Thursday slot.

The change means viewers will get the next leg of the race earlier than expected as the five remaining pairs push on through their eighth and final country, Mongolia. The episode comes after the teams have already crossed more than 12,000km through Italy, Greece, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on their way to the shores of Lake Khovsgol in northern Mongolia. The first pair to cross the finish line will take home the £20,000 prize.

Race Across the World returned to screens last month and has been airing every Thursday at 8pm since then, building toward a finish that now sits just one episode away. This week, though, the schedule has been reshuffled to make space for the second round of the semi-finals, which the broadcaster will carry on May 12 and 14, with coverage starting on TV at 8pm.

That adjustment also pushes out of its normal Thursday slot. The cooking competition will now air on Friday, May 15, after the broadcaster cleared room for Eurovision week. The follows on May 16 at Vienna’s Wiener Stadthalle, with viewers in the UK able to watch live on One and iPlayer and listen on Radio 2 and Sounds.

The scheduling move is straightforward: Eurovision has the priority, and Race Across the World takes the hit. For viewers, that means the answer to is race across the world on tonight is no, but the race is still very much on, and the penultimate leg arrives Wednesday night before the series heads into its final stretch.
