Nick Pasqual was found guilty of attempted murder in the 2024 stabbing of his estranged girlfriend at her Sunland home, a verdict that could send the actor to state prison for life. Jurors also convicted him of first-degree residential burglary with person present and injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend or child's parent.
Allie Shehorn took the witness stand last week and told jurors the relationship had turned abusive. She appeared with visible scars on her arm and neck and described a violent fight that came before the breakup.
“I locked the door and he just started punching holes in that door and broke that open, and I just ran into the bathroom because I thought there's another lock on that door,” Shehorn testified, describing the moment she said Pasqual forced his way inside.
Prosecutors say Pasqual broke into the home in May 2024 and attacked Shehorn after they separated. He was captured at a border checkpoint in Texas after the alleged stabbing, ending a search that followed the attack.
Pasqual, who had appeared in various television shows including How I Met Your Mother, now faces the punishment phase of a case built around a relationship that prosecutors said had already become violent before the break-in. Shehorn had taken out a restraining order against him, a detail that underscored how far the dispute had escalated before the stabbing.
The conviction answers the central question in the case: jurors accepted prosecutors’ account that the breakup did not end the danger, and they found Pasqual guilty of trying to kill Shehorn inside her home. The next step is sentencing, where the maximum penalty he could face is life in state prison.
